Found Photographs is a repository for old photos that have lost their
families. Here, we make digital images searchable in the hopes that the
descendants of the subjects may locate them.
The photos you see here are digital copies of originals. I do not have physical copies of these photos in my possession
and don't know anything more about the photos or their subjects other
than what is included here. If you've found a photo of a family member
here, please download it and save it. You don't need to contact me for permission, although I'd love to hear about your discovery.
These photos are non-copyrighted and most are in the public domain.
In each post, I try to include as much information as possible about the photo. This may include names, dates, locations, and possible family members. I do not guarantee that any of the information is correct, and I do not conduct extensive genealogical research on any of the subjects. If only part of the photo is visible, it's likely due to damage to the original. The photo shown on this blog is the best version I have of it.
The mission of Found Photographs is to keep precious family photos from
being lost, destroyed, or sold to make craft projects. These photos
belong with their families. Please help us reunite them by sharing these images online!
I will happily take your photo submissions and post them. Please contact me about this or any other questions you may have.
